Our fast-growing consumer packaging e-commerce client is seeking an experienced Inventory Accounting & Costing Manager to oversee inventory integrity, costing, and controls across multiple warehouse locations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate inventory reporting, strong internal controls, and cross-functional alignment across operations, finance, and supply chain.
What You'll Do

Own inventory accuracy across ERP and warehouse systems by monitoring quantities, costs, and valuation
Partner closely with Account Management, Operations, and Warehouse teams to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
Reconcile inventory balances between the ERP system and both internal and third-party warehouses, driving variances through to resolution
Manage the end-to-end reconciliation of received goods versus vendor invoices (Received Not Vouchered), identifying timing and pricing differences
Lead and mentor an Inventory Cost Specialist, providing guidance, training, and performance development
Prepare detailed landed cost analyses for inbound container purchases, ensuring accurate capitalization of freight, duties, and related costs
Process inventory builds and troubleshoot transaction errors related to ASNs and inventory movements
Review inventory-related general ledger activity, researching adjustments and unusual transactions
Resolve systemic ERP issues such as negative inventory balances, zero-cost items, and posting errors
Prepare quarterly analyses for inventory reserves related to slow-moving, excess, or obsolete products
Reconcile inventory subledgers to the general ledger and prepare month-end inventory and COGS journal entries
Lead warehouse cycle count programs and support annual physical inventory counts
Support external audits (year-end and bank audits) by preparing inventory schedules and documentation
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps, documenting procedures, and implementing enhancements
Provide ad hoc financial and inventory reporting for senior leadership, translating data into clear, actionable insights

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
CPA or CPA candidate preferred; solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Advanced Excel skills, including pivots, lookups, and complex reconciliations
Hands-on experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience highly preferred
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues, evaluate data, and recommend solutions
Clear, confident communicator who can present findings to leadership and cross-functional partners
High level of integrity, ownership, and attention to detail
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growing e-commerce environment
